Definition of Flow Control

By local law, all trash generated within Cortland County would be required to go to the County Landfill or recycling center. Every resident, business or hauler in the City, Town or Villiage within Cortland County would be required to participate.

Reason Flow Control is being considered

Each year that revenue is lost due to lack of participation at the County Landfill, the lost revenue has a negative impact on the Cortland County Operating Budget, resulting in a burden for all residents who reside and/or pay taxes in Cortland County.
